Egyptian fascist-Islamic regime’s police against Copts

Egyptian fascist-Islamic regime’s police against Copts
http://voiceofthecopts.org/en/news/egyptian_fascist-islamic_regime_s_police_against_copts.html

Information from Cairo indicates that Egyptian state security broke into St. Mary's church and threw tear bombs. Bullets attacked civilian Copts who were gathered in and around the Church.

The Egyptian fascist-Islamic regime’s police system killed at least one person during its operation of destroying the church fence. Another church known by the name of Martyr Mina was attacked also.

Confusing news reaching our offices from Cairo indicates that some Copts were killed and some injured.

The following is a transcript which is part of a live recording transmitted via one of the Coptic satellite TV’s by an eye-witness:

Q. Is the parish priest okay?

"Father was present and we guarded him and got him out of there"

"The situation is the church and surrounding area has become a military zone"

Q. Did anyone attend to the injured?

I did see the injured people while we were running away from the scene, but I did not see any ambulances. Police forces are treating people like "chickens".

Q. How many security vehicles are in the scene?

There are various police cars including a lot of officers, including the chief in command in-person. I saw him personally getting out of his car threatening people and giving orders to his solders to hit civilians. He did give an order that people abandon the church and indicated that no one is allowed in the church. The regime did use tear/smoke bombs and chased the Copts as far as 1/2 km from the church bashing them in streets.

Morris and Terry Jones sincere call for moratorium on the export of wheat to Egypt

Morris told the National Assembly approved Prime Coptic-American that he went at the request of the U.S. administration calling for the moratorium on the export of wheat to Egypt, due to the exposure of Copts in Egypt of oppression - as he claimed -.

Sadiq said in a protest march organized by the Copts in New York, featuring the Rev. extremist Terry Jones, owner of a lawsuit burning the Holy Quran, to condemn the riots that occurred in the city of Abu Tisht recently, "Hey America, Wake-man Egyptian and Christians in my country burn their homes," and claimed in Htavath that "The Egyptian government persecutes Christians and exclude them from high political positions."

In the face of the area to be building a mosque, "Ground Zero" by, condemned what it called the march "Egyptian Christians, burning of houses in the center of Abu Tisht in Qena, Egypt on Monday night."

He endorsed the need to stop sending American wheat to Egypt because, according to belief, do not take firm positions against terrorists such as Mohamed Atta.

For his part, Rev. Terry Jones said that the place where the twin towers fell in 2001 a sacred spot, and expressed his refusal to build a mosque for Muslims, and said the Islamists in this region ended the lives of 3 thousand dollars prior to 9 years.

Just weeks before exposure to the massacre of Iraqi Christians within one of their churches, so I ask the United Nations put Christians in the Middle East under the protection.

Muslims Torch Christian Homes in Egypt! How can we be silent?

Muslims Torch Christian Homes in Egypt! How can we be silent?--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By Fran Ingram - Posted on 16 November 2010

Islam is death! The persecution of Christians is on the rise in Egypt, controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood. This is an ideology that is spreading here in the West too, along with growing political and financial power. America is in danger. We must stand up!

CAIRO --

Muslims set fire overnight to at least 10 houses belonging to
Coptic Christians in a village in southern Egypt over rumors that a
Christian resident had an affair with a Muslim girl, security officials
said Tuesday.

The officials said security forces have sealed off
the village of al-Nawahid, in Qena province some 290 miles (465
kilometers) south of Cairo, to prevent the violence from spreading to
neighboring towns. They said several people were arrested.

The
attacks started after locals spotted a young Copt and a Muslim girl
together at night inside the village cemetery, the officials said. They
added that both were put under police custody as authorities
investigate.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media.

Clashes
between Christians and Muslims occasionally occur in southern Egypt,
mostly over land or disputes over church construction. But sectarian
tensions have also been on the rise recently in the capital.

Last
year in Qena, a Coptic man was accused of kidnapping and raping a
12-year-old Muslim girl. The alleged assault led to widespread protests
by the Muslim community and increased tensions between the two religious
groups, which culminated in the murder of six Copts and one Muslim
security guard at a church on January 6.

Coptic Christians make up
about 10 percent of Egypt's population of 80 million. Copts and Muslims
generally live in peace, though tension and violence occasionally
flares.

Human rights groups say attacks on Copts are on the rise,
underscoring the government's failure to address chronic sectarian
strains in a society where religious radicalism is gaining ground.

The government insists Christians enjoy the same rights as Muslims.

“What we have to understand that these things happen in the Middle East on a regular basis. That is why we hope, sooner or later, we hope to bring our request in some form in front of the UN, and demand that these countries begin to adopt normal human rights.”

Judge blocks Oklahoma ban on Shariah law

Categories:Miscellaneous.Judge blocks Oklahoma ban on Shariah law
A federal judge in Oklahoma has issued a temporary restraining order barring the state from adopting a constitutional amendment voters passed last week that forbids state courts from enforcing Islamic law, also known as Shariah.

The executive director of the local branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Muneer Awad, filed suit over the measure, claiming that it violates religious freedom guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

Awad said, for instance, that the measure could preclude the courts from enforcing or executing his will, since it includes references to Islamic law.

According to unofficial results, Oklahoma voters overwhelmingly adopted the measure by a vote of 70 percent in favor to 30 percent opposed. The proposal also included a ban on state courts' use of international law.

Judge Vicki Miles LaGrange's order barring certification of last week's vote is to remain in place at least through another hearing on Awad's suit set for Nov. 22, The Associated Press reported.

"The Court ... finds that the plaintiff has met the factors for this Court to enter a Temporary Restraining Order. The Court will issue an order as soon as possible," a clerk's filing in the case says.

UPDATE: This post has been updated with confirmation of the order from the court's docket.

Posted By: coolerking | November 08, 2010 at 03:59 PMReport Abuse .Oh, come on. The Oklahoma referendum is unconstitutional right on its face. We permit divorce courts to make endless references to Jewish law, particularly orders requiring the parties to cooperate in obtaining a "get" (a religious divorce, without which the parties cannot remarry as Jews). Many other people make reference to Christian law in their wills or other documents. Sharia law does not and cannot control in the U.S. -- but Muslims are certainly entitled to make reference to it in their personal legal lives and contracts, just as Jews and Christians refer to their own religion's laws in those contexts. Oklahoma's vicious referendum was a device to turn out racist and/or right-wing voters, nothing more.

Posted By: Ankhorite | November 08, 2010 at 04:04 PMReport Abuse .Several of the comments on here are an example of why laws are not made by redneck mobs. It doesn't matter if a majority of ignorant rednecks vote for a law, the law still has to pass Constitutional muster and if it doesn't it will be struck down. For example, if you would have had a vote in the South regarding whether or not to implement civil rights laws, the majority would have voted not to implement them and a Judge would have ruled that they had to implement them anyway. This would have been "overruling the will of the people" as right wing extremists like to say, but that is because the will of the people would have been ignorant and against our Constitution. We have a lot of actual problems in this country and we shouldn't be wasting time on ridiculous worries about sharia law taking over (Good Lord people turn off the Glen Beck and take a deep breath!).

This is the same kind of legal BS we deal with with the California State Supreme Court and The Bong-head Stoners in the 9th Circuit. The people vote, they speak clearly with that vote, and the courts disenfranchise the electorate! Enough! LaGrange needs to be impeached immediately. Perhaps this Judge should be forced to sample the following "benefits" of Sharia law. She'd break her neck to rescind her order if she were subjected to the following. She would summarily stripped of her degrees, her law license, her driver's license, her car, and her job. If she owns any property or real estate she'll be stripped of that too - as well as her wardrobe, her person-hood and her soul - noting that women don't have a soul according to the Koran. All of that would happen to her in addition to the coup de grace: The obligatory cliterodectomy. If she experienced any of these injustices, then perhaps she'd understand that this nation need not shoot for this religious fanatical insanity passing as "law."

No wonder this amendment passed; the GOP simply has to play to the fears of its base and they can get anything passed. The Constitution is already crystal clear on religion and politics. In fact, the implied seperation of church and state is found in the very first amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." Therefore there is absolutly no reason to suggest that the Oklahoma courts be discouraged from "considering or using Sharia Law", they couldn't constitutionally do so anyways. With the growing Islamophobia movement in America, this amendment was nothing more than another Republican's attempt to convince the masses that Muslims are our enemy, and that we should return to the "Judeo-Christian principles" they seem to think we were founded upon. I recommend looking up what Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin, and the other founding fathers ACTUALLY said about religion and its place in Government. In short, this amendment is unnecessary and serves no purpose other than isolating and pointing fingers at an unpopular minority in America. And it further proves that Republicans really have no clue that a secular state with a godless constitution is ACTUALLY what protects their freedom to worship/believe any way they choose.

That would clearly be an unconstitutional law, and if the text of it is determined to do that, it would be a slam-dunk to overturn. International law is trickier - there I suspect the law, as written, violates federal supremacy, as it includes treaties as a source of international law. This would mean that, for instance, violation of treaties the US has ratified would presumably be legal in Oklahoma. Again, this is clearly not something Oklahoma has the authority to do. It would also presumably invalidate any marriages in Oklahoma that were performed in foreign countries. And I can't wait to see how the farm belt responds to the invalidation of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.
